November 7, 2011 Home for Dinner Project at Ronald McDonald House

We started with just five volunteers who talked to people and businesses we knew to supply at a reduced price or donate the ingredients we needed.  Souto Farms at the Calgary Farmers Market on Blackfoot donated all of the produce needed for our first meal, Silver Sage also at Calgary Farmer Market gave us a reduced price for the roast beef, and the five of us donated the rest of the ingredients for our first Ronald McDonald House, Home for Dinner Program on November 7, 2011.  We prepared Pumpkin Soup,  Roast Beef, Roasted Veggies and Potatoes, Garden Salad with Balsamic Dressing and Apple Crisp.  One of our volunteers was sick and not able to join in on the fun, so four of us worked hard and got the job done.

It was obvious we needed more hands to do this job well, so the call for help went out and we recruited seven more volunteers.
